Privacy Policy
Last updated October 30, 2026
Kinly talks with people on the phone and keeps their families informed, so we handle information that matters to people. This policy explains what personal information Kinly (“Kinly,” “we”) collects, how we use and share it, and the choices you have. It covers family members who use our website and app, and the people Kinly calls (“Members”).
1. Information we collect
Information you give us. Your name, email address, phone number and relationship to the Member; the Member’s name, phone number, language, time zone, preferences and the help they’d like; payment information (processed by our payment provider); and anything else you add, like people, places and questions.
Information from calls. What the Member says to Kinly and what Kinly derives from it, such as summaries, things worth remembering, mood, requests and bookings. This can include information about the Member’s health, routines, family and finances, if they bring it up. We keep a record of the Member’s consents, in their own words.
Information about bookings. What was arranged, with whom, when, what it cost, and who approved it, along with information we receive from the businesses and partners that carry it out.
Technical information. Device and browser information, log data, call metadata (such as numbers, times and duration), and cookies needed to keep you signed in and to understand how the Services are used.
2. Recordings and transcripts
We record calls and keep a written transcript of each one. Recordings are stored with our phone carrier.
Gmail
The Member or their family can connect the Member’s Gmail account, which lets Kinly read the Member’s email messages: the sender, subject and text. Kinly uses it only to tell the Member about their email on calls and to read a message to them when they ask.
An AI model writes a short summary of each new email. We keep the sender and the summary for 14 days. We don’t store the emails themselves. What Kinly tells the Member is part of that call’s transcript, which family members see if the Member shares calls with them. We share Gmail data only with the service providers that run this feature, such as our AI model provider.
Gmail data is encrypted in transit and at rest. The key that gives Kinly access to the Member’s Gmail is encrypted again on its own, and only the system that makes calls can unlock it.
The Member can ask Kinly to stop on any call, and family can disconnect Gmail in the app. Either way, we delete the summaries. When Gmail is disconnected, we also cancel Kinly’s access at Google and delete the key. You can also remove Kinly’s access in your Google Account.
Kinly’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
3. How we use information
- To provide the Services: make calls, remember context, arrange bookings, and keep families updated.
- To process payments and prevent fraud and abuse.
- To keep people safe, including alerting family when something may be wrong.
- To maintain, improve and develop the Services, including our AI systems, and to do research. Gmail data is never used for this (see Gmail above).
- To communicate with you, including service messages and, with your choices respected, news about Kinly.
- To comply with the law and enforce our terms.
We may create de-identified or aggregated information that can’t reasonably identify anyone, and use it for any lawful purpose.
4. What the Member controls
Kinly asks the Member for consent before calling them regularly, and asks separately before arranging things for them or sharing calls with family. The Member can tell Kinly to stop calling at any time, ask it to keep something out of family updates, and ask to hear what was written about a call. If something suggests the Member may be in danger, Kinly may share it with family, and it tells the Member when it does.
5. How we share information
- With family on the account. Summaries, updates and bookings are shared with the family members on the account, within the choices the Member has made.
- With service providers that help us run Kinly, such as telephony, AI model, cloud hosting, database, email and payment providers. They may only use it to provide services to us.
- With businesses and partners that carry out bookings, such as ride, delivery, pharmacy and restaurant partners, as needed to complete them.
- With our affiliates, and as part of a merger, acquisition, financing or sale of assets.
- For legal and safety reasons, when we believe it’s required by law or needed to protect someone’s safety, our rights, or others.
- With consent, or at your or the Member’s direction.
We don’t sell personal information.
We don’t share phone numbers, or anyone’s agreement to get texts, with anyone for their own marketing.
Advertising measurement
We use Microsoft Advertising to measure visits to our public pages and whether an ad leads to a signup or a first completed call. Microsoft receives advertising click identifiers, event types and times, and technical information from its browser tag. We do not send call recordings, transcripts, names, email addresses, or phone numbers through this integration. Microsoft uses information it receives for advertising and measurement under its Privacy Statement. We honor Global Privacy Control for this tracking. You can also contact us to opt out.
6. How long we keep it
We keep personal information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes in this policy, such as providing the Services and meeting legal, tax and accounting obligations. When you close your account, we delete or de-identify personal information within a reasonable period, unless we need to keep it for those reasons.
7. Security
We use technical and organizational measures designed to protect personal information, including encryption in transit and access controls. No system is completely secure.
8. Your choices and rights
- You can review and correct much of what Kinly knows in the app, and pause or stop calls there.
- You can opt out of promotional emails with the link in each one. Service messages will still be sent.
- You can stop Kinly’s texts by replying STOP.
- Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or get a copy of your personal information, and to opt out of certain processing. To make a request, email [email protected]. We may need to verify your identity, and we won’t discriminate against you for exercising your rights. You may use an authorized agent where the law allows.
9. Children
Kinly isn’t for anyone under 18, and we don’t knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe we have, contact us and we’ll delete it.
10. Where we operate
Kinly is offered in the United States, and we process information in the United States.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. If we make material changes, we’ll notify you, for example by email or in the app, and update the date above.
